Last time we were in San Diego in March, we had the sad experience of finding out that the dog that lived at the house we were staying at had been attacked by a coyote during the night. Although the dog later passed away that day, I think that it is really still around. Also during that trip in March, Kim's phone and the camera took a quick swim in the ocean. The camera was fine, but the phone slowly lost a few capabilities, such as ringing when a call comes in. But other than that, it still works fine. But during this trip over the 4th of July weekend, bizarre occurances seeped into our life - and all surrounding the room we were in that fateful night when the dog was attacked.
Now, remember, that the camera has been working just fine ever since March. The phone lost its ringing, but has also been just fine. But then we entered The Room. Randomly, and only in that Princess Gold Room, Kim's phone would turn off all by itself. And then it would turn itself back on! It did this a number of times, over and over until she removed the battery. The last morning we were in the room, Saturday morning, Kim took a few pictures of the room so we could remember the Princess Gold Room. The camera worked fine. Then when we were about to leave the house for Point Loma, I grabbed the camera to take a picture of the outside of the million-dollar house where we had stayed. The camera did not turn on. It was just working fine a couple of minutes ago, and then it would not turn on. I replaced the battery, tried pushing all sorts of buttons, but nothing. As we drove away, southbound on I-5, and as we passed over the hill away from the house, the camera suddenly awoke in a possessed madness. It wouldn't work well, didn't take any pictures, but the lens did pop out and the screen was working. That was all fine until it suddenly shut off - leaving the lens out and uncovered. That's just great.
Later, on Sunday, I tried playing with the camera again, and it suddenly awoke from its slumber, took a picture or two and a video, and then I turned it off with no problems--until we were at the airport. At the airport I wanted to take a picture of the birds that live inside the terminal. We know they live inside because there were bird houses set up at every gate sign. It was so funny. But alas, we do not have pictures of that because the camera decided to not work again.
So my guess is that when we turned the camera on in the Princess Gold Room, it let the spirit of the Ghost Dog into its system. But it was unable to leave San Diego since the camera works just fine now, back in Salt Lake City. I think that we released the Ghost Dog in the San Diego Airport when we tried to take a picture of the birds that live inside the airport. So now the Ghost Dog roams the terminals of San Diego International Airport. Next time you are there, listen carefully for the friendly footsteps of a cute little dog walking beside you. But don't turn on your camera, or he might hitch a ride to some other part of town.
