When we arrived in town on Friday we decided to go to Fairy Tale Town. PaA and Jayne took the neighbor kids that they were watching to the zoo across the street. I had gone to Fairy Tale Town when I was younger, and was pleased to see that some of the same little features were still there.
Shannon's First Birthday
Saturday was my cousin Shannon's first birthday. She is a cute little girl and there were plenty of family members there to celebrate her first year. But towards the end of the party the storm clouds rolled in and the rain came down. Most others had understandably left to get out of the cold. We stuck around to help clean things up. Little Shannon stayed in our car while Aunt Yvonne ate some food (since she hadn't yet eaten during the entire party) and the rest of us helped Eric packed up the cars.
At the Park
Sunday we just went down to the park near PaA's place so that all the little cousins could run around, visit with each other, and otherwise use some energy while not being in a confined house. I think that they had fun. It was good for them to get together. Afterwards we went back to the house and ate some dinner.
Visiting Grandpa Adams
Before the get-together at the park we went with Amy and her kids (Kenneth was taking a nap) and went to visit Grandpa Adams in the rest home. As you can see in the photo, he was asleep in his wheelchair and never woke up from his slumber. He was getting ready for dinner tonight. It was good to see him, as this was the last time we were able to see him since he later passed away on Tuesday, 26 July 2011.
