The Big Flop!

This years Christmas card turned out to be a big flop! The first problem started when Michael and I got sick right before Thanksgiving. We were supposed to head to Southern California to have Thanksgiving with Michael's sister Amy but both ended up with the great gombu and had to cancel those plans. How did this disturb our Christmas card you ask? Our family picture was supposed to be taken by the ocean in CA. The next problem took place when we didn't order enough Christmas cards. It seems like we always have too many or too few and this year was the year of too few. The last problem occurred after we handed my mom her card and she said, "I don't know this song." Our assumption was that everyone would have at least heard of that song but especially my mom's age group. So I will take this time to apologize for the lame Christmas card this year and we will hope for a better one next year... or maybe this is just a sign to stop and just take on a normal card for a change.

Adams’ Family Christmas Card 2011
(Sung to The Mamas & The Papas California Dreamin’)

All the lights were up... all the lights were up
Out and on display... out and on display.
We got it done so early... got it done so early
Hey what can we say… what can we say.
We were safe and warm... we were safe and warm
Until that fateful day... ‘til that fateful day.
The house burnt to the ground... house burnt to the ground
On that Christmas day!

We hopped into our car,
And headed on our way.
We would have stayed at home... would have stayed at home
But it was cold that day... it was cold that day.
We took the road to Cali... took the road to Cali
For a warmer place to play... a warmer place to play.
The house burnt to the ground... house burnt to the ground
On that Christmas day!

Our home will be rebuilt... home will be rebuilt
A nice warm place to stay... a nice warm place to stay.
We’ll make it back to Utah... make it back to Utah
Before the month of May... before the month of May.
That’s when little brother... little brother
Is due to come our way... due to come our way.

Merry Christmas to you... Merry Christmas to you
We’ll make it home by May!
Merry Christmas to you,
We’ll make it home by May!
Merry Christmas to you,
We’ll make it home by Mayyyyyy!

This is just a Christmas card. Our house did not burn down.

Congratulations! I'm glad to hear the house didn't burn down as well. That's too bad you guys weren't able to go to Cal. Just for the record, we knew the song.

Mom didn't know "California Dreamin'"? Weird.
