Here is a very quick recap of the past some weeks or so:
December 2009, Wednesday: We found out that my company and team has been awarded the I-15 CORE project, which is basically a reconstruction of I-15 in Utah County. It is a huge project worth over $1 billion, and a project that many people wanted to win.
December 2009, Friday: Alisha’s birthday. I went with the scouts to Mount Charleston for a snow campout. After dinner of chili and hot dogs, the boys decided to go play, which included throwing snowballs at a passing truck. The truck stopped. They ran and hid. Nobody confessed to what really happened. We packed up and left – which meant that I got to sleep in a comfortable and warm bed and not the inside of a car.
December 2009, Saturday: Attended the baptism of two people. The talk on baptism, which normally lasts 5 to 10 minutes, lasted about 30 minutes. He was baptized with little issue. His sister was deathly afraid of water and took about 45 minutes before she was baptized. The total length of this baptismal service was about I hour and 45 minutes. Normally they last about 30 minutes. We barely made it out to head out for the next event of the evening.
We attended the Andrea Bocelli concert at the MGM Grand hotel, and by “we” I mean me with Kim and her mom. A couple sitting in front of us was super decked out in a tuxedo, gown, and well-slicked, pulled-back hair. The group of three sitting next to them was in jeans and t-shirts and eating pizza, nachos, and sodas. Gown girl scowled at those next to her as they chomped into nacho-cheese covered chips as Andrea Bocelli sang beautiful opera pieces. The show directly in front of us was almost as good as the main attraction.
December 2009, Monday: Another doctor appointment. The Kid seems to be doing well.
December 2009, Wednesday: Went to the Las Vegas Temple with the youth from church.
December 2009, Thursday: Today was the due date for Little Baby Pacheco. Analee and Jose went into the hospital this afternoon for her to be induced.
December 2009, Friday: Little Baby Pacheco finally born this afternoon! He is a cute little guy.
December 2009, Saturday: The drive up to Salt Lake City commenced this morning. We arrived in time to change our clothes and head down to the Mount Timpanogos Temple for our friend Heidi’s wedding. Then we remembered that we had forgotten to bring the sign-in pages that we made for their reception book so we had to head back to Salt Lake City to pick them up and then headed down to Orem for the reception. Heidi looked so happy, we finally got to meet Dustin, and we visited with old friends that were also there.
