We went to our second doctor's appointment yesterday and everything looks great! It was really fun to finally hear the Kid's heartbeat. Dr Robinson found the heartbeat right away and Michael and I were clueless. I finally asked if we were listening to the heartbeat and Dr Robinson smiled and said yes. She said the Kid sounds really healthy so we don't have much to worry about, what a relief.
The week before last was the worst week of pregnancy so far. I'm sure it had something to do with the stress of everything. Saturday we started moving out of our house and over to my mom's house. Sunday we had the joy of speaking in church. I gave my talk and excused myself to the foyer for Michael's. The rest of Sunday my stomach didn't feel quite right. That night I was revisited twice by foods of earlier eating. Monday I was revisited by every food particle that entered my mouth... I thought I might die, but was more just wishing I would. By Tuesday I knew I needed to take drastic measures and I had Michael go and get my last prescription, it was the medication for chemo patients. I had been hesitant to take it because I heard it slowed down your digestive track and I was already having problems in that area. I took half a pill that night and boy did it work fast.
The next day I woke up and felt like a million bucks. I started my day off with some fiber cereal (I knew I would need a lot of fiber to combat the effects of the meds). Two hours later I ate an apple. A couple hours later I had yogurt... I was truly in hog heaven. I had a couple more small snacks, but by two o'clock I was stuffed. I started to get really worried because I hadn't eaten very much. That night at nine o'clock the whole day of food decided to revisit... my digestive system had stopped working completely. The next day I called my doctor's nurse who told me to stop taking the chemo meds and start taking all of the things my grandma used to take to get things moving. I was also instructed not to worry about food but just focus on fluids. I was at the end of my rope. I had already lost about six pounds in that week alone. That night Michael gave me a blessing and I went to bed.
The next morning we called my Aunt Joyleen (she used to be my doctor's nurse). She was great and told me the wise advise a doctor had told my other aunt. I guess my Aunt Vernetta was really sick with her second baby and the doctor said, "Vernetta, no matter how much you try, you can't throw up this baby." With that advise, and instructions to take dairy out of my diet, she assured me everything would be fine. She also gave me the hope of the 12 week mark and things getting better from there. That day I started my watermelon and cracker diet. Saturday continued my watermelon and cracker diet but only had one revisit right before bed. Sunday was my 12 week mark and right on cue everything felt better. I wasn't back to normal but I didn't feel constantly sick either (and I was actually gaining weight again, normally not an exciting event but it was nice to see the numbers go back up).
Michael flew down to Vegas for the week on Sunday. This last week was heaven in my book. I wasn't back to normal food but I didn't throw up once and actually didn't even have to carry my bowl around at all... not even nauseated. Michael flew home yesterday for the doctor's appointment and right on cue I tossed my cookies. Some have suggested a link between these two events and say I should send him away and stay here in Salt Lake. I say that I would rather be sick than have to live without Michael for the next 6 months. Now that you are all sick I will end my post with these words... Michael, you make me sick!

I'm so sorry you are/were so sick. I am also sorry that I have been out of the loop for so long. Congrats on the up and coming baby! I'm so excited for you.
So I guess Michael gets to "revisit"? Interesting word....
Take care!

oh dear! I could say, "I know the feeling", but that does not help at all. I'm glad you're gaining weight and keeping fluid downs. Nothing worked for me...so good luck! :D
