We went back up to Mount Constitution to take a few better photographs during the day. Low-flying clouds drifted by below us, creating a surreal feeling while peering at the natural beauty of the islands.
We also took a few pictures of the watch tower, which was quite hilarious for others that watched us as we took them.

On the way down we stopped at Mountain Lake and took pictures of us running and jumping on the dock.

We were not able to catch the ferry that left at 4:15, but were able to get the 7:00 sailing. This really was a good thing, though, as we were able to take a nap in the car and then walk down to get some amazingly deliciously scrumptious raspberry and hazelnut chocolate gelato with a small bit of vanilla on top. Taking the ferry is so much more relaxing than a plane ride. You just drive up with your car and you don’t worry about what you are carrying. The scenery is magnificent during the trip and the ferry is so smooth that you don’t get sick at all. Perhaps the best part is that if you miss one ferry and you have to wait, you can actually leave your car there in line and go wander off. There is always some shop or restaurant nearby. Here in Orcas there is a grassy knoll with bountiful trees overlooking the harbor. The people are just laid back and so nice. It was a great trip.
For any of you looking for a vacation spot, the San Juan Islands are wonderful. There is plenty to do, but even though we were always doing something, it all felt so relaxing and unrushed. The scenery is beautiful. The wildlife is plentiful. The ferry ride was soothing. The whale watching was incredible. The crowds were not seen, except, perhaps, while waiting for the ferry. This trip was great!
