You know you are in Seattle when...

Having only lived in Seattle for a month we are far from experts but here is some of the knowledge we acquired as we toured around the city.

You know you are in Seattle when:

  • There are 5 or more Starbucks per city block.
  • You are watching the news and the newscaster states, "but there is an end in sight." when talking about the sunny weather we had been enjoying.
  • The air is 50% air and 50% cigarette smoke.
  • You see the cop per block program in action. (Ours happened to be 5 cops per our one block.)
  • Black & gray are the new pink... they are also the new brown, blue, orange, etc.
  • People carry umbrellas to take cover from the sun more than the rain.
  • Art is universal and everywhere.
  • In order to be "unique" you have to avoid tattoos & piercings.
  • Parking lots are 1 part all "other" cars and 4 part Prius & Subaru's.

We loved Seattle! It was so much fun to have our extended vacation and have the chance to see more of the city than is normally possible. We both miss it but it is also nice to be back home again. Thanks for following us on our trip.
