Don't think I have forgotten to tell you about the reason why poor Michael had to make a SLC to Seattle drive on his own. There are certain people you meet in life who you know will be there for a lifetime. I have been lucky enough to have several roommates who fit this title of life long friends. Last weekend Nicomi had agreed to come up and visit Utah... no small chore on our part from Utah. So Saturday we prepared for Michael to leave and Nicomi to come. Her plane flew in at about 10:30 pm and that left us plenty of time to "Shoot the Tube". Shooting the Tube is like getting flushed down a toilet without the crap. (The "Tube" is a large irrigation canal running under the I-80 freeway. You dam up the top so that the water can build and then break the dam and get rushed down the tube.) The water is beyond freezing but it is so much fun. Nicomi, Analee, Jose, John and myself headed off to the tube taking my niece Melanie and nephew Ben with us... I don't think I have seen anyone swim as fast as Ben as we hit the pond at the bottom. He would have given Michael Phelps a run for his money. Two runs were enough and then we all went home and tried to warm up enough to sleep.
After a relaxing Sunday we were off again on Monday. Nicomi was scheduled out with hair cuts in the morning... which all looked fabulous. Then we headed up to Park City because Nicomi had never been there before. We stopped into a couple of shops and of course hit the Rocky Mountain Chocolate factory before heading down to some outlet stores. Nicomi found the greatest black dress ever and some $9 shoes (normally over $100). Then off to Red Iguana with Candi G for some dinner. Nicomi wanted to shoot the tube again but didn't think that she could brave the cold. We decided to stay at our pool. Analee, Jose, Nicomi, John and I hosted the first every Park Capital Apartment Olympics. We all won several medals and had a great time. The whole weekend was great. Thanks everyone for such a fun time!
